This Darius Build Guide is for Darius, who is a really great, strong top laner with scary harrass as well as few counterpicks. His harass is insane because Darius causes your enemy to bleed slowly. He also has a great 'Garen-Like' ultimate that is simply just better because it resets in team fights allowing you to execute multiple enemies.
Targets a single champion dealing 50 + (lvl x 20) true damage over 5 seconds. Also reduces the target’s healing and regeneration by 50%.

Pros and Cons
Pros
Strong lane presence
Deals mixed damage making him hard to itemize against
Very strong execute that resets on kills
Damage stays relavant throughout the entire game if itemized properly
Which lane are you taking him in? If it's bot, few high-level people expect to have a dar bot, so the typical adcs haven't figured out how to counter him. If it catches on, people will start learning how to counter him.
I really like this build on Darius, because its very situation depending on what your team needs and what the other team is doing. For the longest time I have been playing Darius with Phreak's Champion Spotlight Build with Dorian's Blade, Ninja Tabi, Frozen Mallet, Shurelia, and Maw. I've always played Darius this way, and I did a little less then fine.
This build changed that, Triple kills and firstbloods. A very good Guide, and I will be using this build for as long as I can.
I add in a Bkoddthirster and don't get GA. I personally find that there are more useful items out there. He also doesn't fall off that much if he isn't farmed...allthough I'm not llvl 30, so that may change. I like the sunfire cape and black cleaver, but I find that BT is more useful so I get it first.
If he aint played tanky at higher levels he will get focused first and GA might be everything you need to get up after your first death and dunk a pentakill.
I've only needed to build tanky once, and that was against a lvl 30 summoner playing Lee Sin. Although I am only lvl 14, so it probably does vary.... And I find it very hard to get enough gold to get a GA after my first death.
Randuin's Omen seems better, as it provides more armor plus the shield and slow.

Well that explains everything. At low levels you might as well go 5 BTS Sorcerers and you will still dominate.
When you reach level 30 you'll soon realise that you can't build pure DMG on Darius, AKA BT, IE, Etc., at least not without getting 3-4 defensive items first. If you want to do crazy damage, play AD or AP carry
I came up with a better build than what I had: randuin's omen, sunfirecape, and thornmail as the core items. Haven't figured anything else out yet, though. If any of you have any suggestions, they would be much appreciated. Prolly add in BT or Black Cleaver.

I have a lvl 30 friend suggest building FM over sunfire since it takes 10 seconds for sunfire to do 400 dmg.
And I don't remember anything about armor not stacking... What kind of idea is that anyway?? Takes away the usefulness of tanks.
Randuin's allows Dar to do more dmg since they are slowed.
so maybe FM, randuin's, Thornmail (still useful, because you don't even have to do anything and they get damaged). And since Fm gives health and Thornmail gives armor, it doesn't change the bonus.

Posted 1/26/2013 2:27:29 AMYeah, don't build that.
Sunfire and Randuin are fine, Thornmail isn't. In S3 you can't stack armor, and thornmail just sucks unless they have like 2-3 fed Auto Attackers.
If you want to go tanky, FM > Maw > Omen > Bulwark > BC/BT/GA/Warmog
