This build guide for Galio is for mid lane and is by Nillem, a platinum rated player on League of Legends. AP Galio Mid is an amazing, powerful and tanky champion that does significant AOE damage, has great team utility and team fight control. He is strong against certain mid-lane champions.

Well i dont know what Nillem(the author) is doing with his skills but if you have no mana reg runes or masteries before first back, you one way cant use much skills or you will hang around without mana
There is no-one in Lol who can stop you getting max cs in-lane. No-one.
Take tele+flash. Run Ap runes with mana regen/lvl seals. Start with 45 Ap at level 1.
Start menki's +2 health pots. Farm 500 gold, go back buy challice, repeatedly spam skills as you now have infinite mana. On top of last hitting every creep in-lane start to take the enemies wraith camp whenever they are up.
Have 100 cs by ten mins, 200 by 20mins.
Ward, Don't take mid turret too early and Gank bottom when you have Six.
Ult>Smite>Gust/Bulwark (depending on match-up) ie. Anyone with a Hard-hitting DoT (malz,brand,cass,swain) max Bulwark and proceed to heal through it. Everyone else, Gust.
Challice>Merc's>Catalyst>Abbysal>Rabbadons>Banshee's>GA. Choose either Void, Rylai's, Athene, Thormail or Lich depending on enemy team comp.
Tips:
-Smite+Gust combo is an underestimated combo early game with huge range. Skill level dictates how badly you will rape mid.
-Cancel ult with Gust+Smite on enemy carry to make every teamfight a 4v5.
-You can heal through everything Mid-Late game with bulwark. Early game Potion+bulwark will leave you with more health after ignite.
Run Ap runes with mana regen/lvl seals. Start with 45 Ap at level 1.
Dafuq. The most ap you can start with with ap runes and mp5/lvl seals would be 31+a bit from masteries. Its impossible for you to attain 45 ap at level 1 lol
Maybe he's counting Galio's passive. You know - resist becomes AP. Which, you should notice, counts his base resistance. Galio has a built-in 15 AP at level 1, without masteries or runes. With flat resist runes and the resist mastery, that's an extra 9 AP. AP Quints gives 14.85, which is rounded to 15. AP reds give another 5.31, which is basically just 5. Now let's add the +4 AP from Mental Force.
So that becomes 48 AP. If you go 21 points in Offense instead of Defense, then you can also get Archmage for +5% AP, and Blast for +AP every level, which would put you at either 51 or 52 AP (not sure if 51.45 would round up or not in LoL).
And now we see exactly why Galio's AP ratios aren't too high. Primarily because he's meant to be a tank, but also because he can get a fuckton of AP without even trying.

Cass destroys any melee champions in the middle lane and early game Bulwark is not strong enough to protect you against a Cass spamming her E on you. So Cass is very good versus Galio.
This is not true at all. For starters you spam the hell out of MR in the first place and when you get hit by her Q you walk away and press Bulwark. If she puts down Miasma, Bulwark. Also, Resolute Smite does plenty of damage to countertrade with her and you have killing potential on her.
Weak laning? MR red, MR quints, MR/lvl blue, for hard countering if necessary. One of Galios main point´s is fact, he counters APs at mid, his bullwark +slow/speed and sort of natural tankyness makes him quite hard to gank if enemy can´t really chain CC him.
I personally go: chalice, mercs, abyssal, rhylayi (yes slow is usefull only on E but i like that ammount of HP and AP as i am still big dmg dealer at this point), frozen hearth, whatever necessary (GA, Randuin, FoN...), upgrade chalice in a process as yes, it is suprisingly good item on him :)
DFG has like 0 synergy on this sort of Galio build, you won't be killing anybody with this guide and you will be extremely reliant on your team to do anything. Also they nerfed Galio because athenes is like the best item for him, its perfect. If you are going to build like this you might as well call this supportGalio.
Yes, definetly looks like a strong item on Galio. Like I said though, I don't feel comfortable adding it to the guide right now as I did not test it enough. There will be weekly updates.
