How to Jungle
Introduction
About the Author
Hello, my name is Arzenal. I've been a competitive League of Legends player for about two years now. I have mained jungling for about a year and a half. I came across jungling due to the lack of skill in lane ( farming :P ). Ever since getting more and more into jungling I found better ways about jungling. Whether it's through runes, masteries, builds, or jungling itself. I prefer more of the assassin snowball type of jungling opposed to the tank support junglers, how ever my knowledge for all types of jungler isn't gimped by preference.

What is Jungling?
The jungler is one of the most interesting roles in League of Legends. Instead of gaining experience and gold from the creeps that travel in lanes, they gain experience and gold from killing neutral monsters that live and respawn in the jungle between the lanes. These monsters are split into what most players call camps. Each side of the map has their own identical set of camps. Junglers are players who master how quickly they kill these neutral monsters while also placing pressure on the enemy Champions in lane.
Why Jungle?
There are two main reasons for having a jungler on the team. The first lies in experience and gold. Allowing your top lane to lane by themselves grants them more experience and lets them take gold from all the minions without having to worry about sharing. Since jungling gives enough gold and experience so sustain a Champion, this had no negative draw backs. The second reason is that with a jungler, you now have a roaming entity. Instead of each lane being decided by the better player, your team now has a secret variable and since that variable is constantly farming and roaming around in the fog of war, players have to be careful not to play too aggresively, otherwise they may end up regretting it.

Posted 3/6/2012 4:09:43 PMProbably worth mentioning the respawn timers in a beginner jungle guide:
Red/Blue buff: 5 minutes
Dragon: 6 minutes
Baron: 7 minutes
Wolves, wraiths, small golems: 1 minute

Posted 2/13/2012 3:43:09 AMGood basics of jungling but I'd suggest organizing the guides as beginner/intermediate/adv, or Jungling 101/102 etc. This guide is focused more for beginner junglers and I'm sure some of you pros have some advanced tips you could share.
Also would be good to add in buff/camp timers, flash/tp/summoner timers, etc.
