This build guide for Jax is for jungle and it's by Saintvicious, a diamond rated player on League of Legends. This Jungle Jax Guide is great for solo queue play. Most competitive teams play him in top lane, but that does not mean you can't play him in the jungle and carry your team to get some ELO. Jax is a hybrid-damage dealing melee champion who is deceivingly tanky with just damage items. His kit allows him to do a lot of damage and stay in the fight for a long time with little items.
I can see why he goes 21/9 since you are in the jungle and his clear time is not that fast you are gonna need all the damage to quicken the pace plus it adds to his ganking power since one good stun and a few hits + red buff (with assist from lane partner) will almost guarantee a kill. plus attack speed runes are not needed due to his passive. as for the machete, I think it's possible to upgrade it to golem or lizard. I'd go golem for HP and tenacity so I can change Zephyr for Rageblade or nashors... (your pick)
Onto my questions..... what about Frozen heart on him. CDR, ARMOR, and mana ( I go trigger happy jax sometimes. You know, spamming empower all the time) o
what about Ice bourne gauntlet. Same as FH but added proc.
what about mobilty to solve early game roaming then swap for tabi or zerkers later
and instead of homeguard why not furor? or maybe it's situational?
I think he goes Zephyr because he takes Berserker's Greaves. And about Frozen Heart, Randuin's Omen gives not only armor, but health. And the passive slows movement and atck speed, and the CDR is not enough for buying it.
I know why he goes zephyr. I was just stating that I could go another possible route to gain tankiness and AS at the same time. As for the other stuff you said, I'd like to say thanks. Your right Omens is still better :)
Well, I think tankiness is covered by Maw and Omen. About the other stuff, like mobility or CDR, Zephyr gives boths and also atck speed. Gauntlet could be an option instead of Frozen Mallet, some more tankiness, the sheen proc and the slow, and armor instead of health.
I saw once a guide with trinity, rilay´s, nashor, but never tasted. About rageblade, My personal beleive is that you want to get the full stack of Jax's passive ASAP, so getting an item that needs to stack is not so great.
As with every other Stvicious guide, I sincerely disagree with everything. Jax doesn't need 21 offense, he needs to be tanky to stay alive in fights, and do his dmg.
Why are you going ad/arp on jax, when he loves attack speed, and more attack speed procs more wriggles? Add to that AS being more expensive ingame, best get some from runes.
Why Machete but no wriggles? Why even build it then???
I agee that I dislike a lot of his builds and I am not fond of this either, but the ones you mentioned aren't bad:
*1 You start with AD, and not AS, because you get passive AS, so going AD maximizes your damage output in early, thats for what the runes are for. Also AD and ARPen give you a better damage boost to your ganks.
*2 More procs to Wriggles is irrelevant, because you don't build Wriggles on Jax. Nothing to disagree here.
*3 Building Machete incredibly increases the jungle speed. As you can see, the guide demands you sell it after Zephyr (I personally would build Crest of the Ancient Golem instead of Zephyr).
I really don't understand why guide authors can get away with this...
There is no explanation for the items. The text doesn't even match up with the goddamn pictures. What do I do with machete? Why don't you build it into a wriggles? It makes him excellent at counter jungling.
Why choose phage over bilgewater cutlass first? Just ANY kind of explanation would be good.
I've been running Attack speed reds and Life steal quints on Jax. Start Doran's blade and you stay at 90% health for the whole jungle. You're a little slower for your first gank (before you B) but flash can make up for this and with that extra damage you simply melt mid/ top lane.
It won't really help him clear faster since you won't have a chance to skill a 2nd point into another ability until level 8 and by then you have enough AD it doesn't even matter. In addition, skilling Leap Strike reduces cdr but the cdr reduction on counter strike only reduces by 2 that isn't enough for you to use it a 2nd time in a gank

Posted 1/9/2013 8:19:32 AMSeriously, why is there no information on his item build? There is basically no info, and seems utterly outdated.
Please update this guide, otherwise people are simply forced to go to solomid.
