Having +11 attack damage runes helps him early game,also he is scaling mostly off AD,so for starters i believe its the best way to build a rune page.
Alternative Rune Builds:
- Could use MoveSpeed quints against champions like Irelia,Renekton,Riven since your goal is to evade their combos
- Could use 9 MR glyphs if you don't have mana probs in lane
Since I am laning him top and this guide is about top lane,having armor seals is mandatory even if he has armor in Hammer form,it is not enough for top lane.
The reason why I choose to use these masteries is to be able to keep on exchanging with enemy and negate some of the damage from creeps. It also allows you to freeze the lane and allow you win trades more.
Allows you to finish off enemies with additional damage.
Since you have movespeed steroid on your Gate spell E,Ghost is not necessary and having flash allows you to escape or make combos with your knockback ability.
Allows you to win duals with the other top laner because they will often forget that you have this and can also allow you pull off clutch escapes if an ignite is ticking away at you. Also, you can use this skill even if you are CC'd (except if you are suppressed) so grabbing this against a team or against a lane with a lot of CC could make a huge difference in a fight.
This skill, like barrier, is also a good defensive skill to grab against a team with a lot of CC. Also, since a lot of top laners like to grab exhaust or ignite, this skill good to have because it removes both of those.
