Pro Commentary
Pros and Cons
Pros
Has an amazing ultimate for saving the target of focus fire
Has very strong control over teamfighting
Is very durable in lane due to her shield
Able to spam pushes due to low mana cost of Glitterlance (Q)
Can boost up the damage up AP and AD carries
Very strong auto attack
Cons
Has no way to escape ganks if her Whimsy and Wild Growth are used
Very low damage in comparison to standard middle lanes
*I feel all three of these champions do what AP Lulu can do a little bit better. That isn't to say AP Lulu isn't good, it's to say these champions are better at what she does.
Any thoughts on non-supportLulu in recent patches? I know Aerodactyl has had decent results with her top lane, usually as an Aspd On-Hit but also a few games as standard AP. Do you think she's still viable mid, and more importantly do you think she's a decent enough champion to master for gaining elo?
Anyone can die to lulu :) Her auto attack is very strong, and if she doesn't miss her skillshots she will zone anyone fairly hard early. Generally you will pull ahead of your lane, and snowball so that 6+ isn't that difficult.
Yo jaximus, I'm obviously not at the level that you are but i'm a little bit disappointed with this guide. You compare lulu to the likes of Janna in her utility and morg, i assume in her shoving potential but worse than both of them. Her projectile is considerably harder to dodge then jannas Q aswell as being near impossible to miss and more burst then janna when coupled with e.
Glitterdance is ridiculous for shoving aswell as long range harrass, it's not strange for by level 7 or 8 to have a well place glitter dance clear the wave easily and i believe her real strength is in her early game trading as well as being able to shove the lane whenever she pleases. While her damage may be lackluster compared to a lot of your more standard AP's late game i definately do not think she is disadantaged in lane against them. By level 2 her e and q is doing some fairly ridiculous burst against AP's who aren't bringing a bruiser MR page to lane. There seems virtually no need to shield yourself at early levels to win trade as your q is a guaranteed hit if you have landed your e.
She's more difficult to gank than most ap's due to whimsy, when starting boots you normally wont have an issue with skarner with w on etc. and really, unless you're fully committing to a kill, whimsy and wild growth shouldn't be on cooldown.
Sorry for the wall of text, have been waiting for an AP lulu guide for a bit and these are just some thoughts/queries.

Posted 1/12/2013 2:07:55 PMWhats up Summoners!
[Update on AP lulu S3] My build: Malady + Nashor's Tooth + Deathfire Grasp + Rabadon's Deathcap + Void Staff and Sorcerer's shoes
I level "E" first to zone opponent out level 1, "Q" level 2, "W" level 3 and then Max "E"
I can say 50% of the kills i get are from auto attacks and it need to be taken in consideration when playing AP lulu.
Malady + Nashor's Tooth and the AP stack + DFG buff and selfbuff from "W" makes Lulu a Excellent Mid lane nowadays!
Thanks for reading, appreciate any feedbacks!

What do you think of laning against Swain? I'm surprised not to see him as a counterpick, since he cannot die to Lulu, at level 6+.

Posted 6/6/2012 11:52:49 PMThis guide has been recently been reviewed/edited, an alternative tankier build has also been added.
@Slarts, sorry for not mentioning the long ranged harass and other various Glitterlance tips, most of your thoughts should be addressed :)
I also think Lulu's kit is very unique, so I have avoided comparing her to Janna, etc., as best as possible.
