What do you guys think of this guide after the May Nunu rework?

  • #26 Crazyjuniot

I used to use this guide for my jungle Nunu before the buffs to Nunu but now i feel i have to build full tanky. I get Bulwark, Locket, Randuins and usually the game is over by then haha but instead of getting the madredz razor i get the spirit of the spectral wraith because i like the mana regen and it makes it a lot easier for me to clear jungle camps with Nunu Q

hmm. Which masteries do you guys follow? The one on quick guide tab or masteries tab?

  • #24 thechosenone124

Well, Nunu is a tank, and he needs damage to clear the jungle. So the quick one seems more viable. The second one seems to be from the support guide

What's the tought about Nunu jungle as of S3 so far? :)
Any major rework to mastery, runes and itembuilds coming?

I've been using jungle nunu for awhile and here are some of my thoughts.

Attack speed reds are nice for nunu, as besides his consume and snowball, he doesn't really have a fast way to clear camps early on. Usually I got AS reds and then Arm Pen Quints, as with his blood boil, you don't really need the MS quints as much.  He is a counter jungler, but Attack Speed reds just helps his early game.

I agree with his skill order, but usually I grab another level of consume around level 10, to help scale with the minions.

Items, he does work well with a a chalice because spamming iceballs during a fight/harassing can be consuming on his mana pool. You could take an RoA/Catalyst to help, but I find that a chalice just gets the job done and is cheaper.

Other items can be built  are a Frozen heart or Warmogs. Usually I build my jungle nunu as a bruiser tank but I agree with the guide. His item build is very situational  based on your team and the opponents.

Damn I love jungle nunu, he has such a great start from blue buff with just a leash pull, can counter jungle the big blue wraith really fast and then hang around to steal red buff and kill the enemy jungler.

Went 3/1/6 against a fiddle jungle. Team won 19/3 with a surrender at 20minutes.

This is the outcome of using Jungle Nunu from this guide. Only changes I've made from what the guide said is instead of guardian angel I got a warmogs and instead of abyssial Scepter I got a Deathcap so he can be a DPS Tank.. This is one of the best guides I've seen for Nunu and lolpro will be the only place where I will get the Champion guides.. Nunu is my favourite jungle champion now.

I mean it's not like I wanna steal your thunder or anything but they had no jungler, kassadin is useless late game, and that teemo on other team was on something. #BlindPick.

Yeah, pretty much. And it's level 22..

Nunu maybe gets some buffs, but I still think they are not enough. The Cooldown of consume should be scale like: 12/11/10/9/8. It is just a must for Nunu to jungle effectively.

Aswell, the mana cost on Consume should be reduced to 50.

And I think the mana costs on Ice Blast are waay to high aswell.

I think the mana costs are set a bit high partially due to his passive; encourages autoattacking (mostly aimed at support Nunu, jungle Nunu triggers his passive on a regular basis, and I've never had big mana issues while jungling as a result; this is back when it took 7 attacks to get his passive).
So long as you spread your spells and attacks out a bit - try to use his passive for Ice Blast, rather than Consume or Blood Boil - you sustain very well, and his mana pool is big enough that he can still fire off multiple no-passive Ice Blasts chasing someone down or ganking.

Mana and CD is not a problem on Nunu, in my experience. I have focus on early ganking so faster jungling would not help much. I wonder if cheap way to add some AD against jungle would be something to help out a little, such as the Butcher mastery.
