Strategy and Tactics
Olaf is a simple jungler to play. Your Q will give you great AOE jungle clear due to its cooldown reset. Try to throw Q the shortest distance possible and catch it immediately, while kiting jungle monsters with autoattacks, to minimize your clear times. Blue buff helps immensely with spamming Undertow, although it's not necessary to have it all the time. In the rare games where your mid laner doesn't need blue buff or can't do much with it, consider taking it to help you farm the jungle better. Olaf's single target damage output is also very strong due to his passive and Reckless Swing. Due to the fact that Reckless Swing has no cost if it deals a killing blow, use it to last hit jungle creeps.
You should gank often with Olaf, given the opportunity. Pay attention to the lanes, as its often possible to predict what an enemy will do for the next few minutes. When ganking, throw your Q to slow enemies down, and keep throwing axes, autoattacking and using E on your enemies. Olaf's ganks provide high consistent damage.
Also remember to keep track of the Jungle Timers because they are extremely important early game and if the enemy team gets all the Dragons and Buffs early game, it can severely hurt your team. Olaf is an amazing jungler at doing early Dragons, due to his high sustain and sustained damage. If you kill the enemy bot lane you can do Dragon as early as level 4, provided you have enough vision of the enemy team and help from your teammates.

Although Olaf is a good counter jungler, Season 4 doesn't promote this practice too much. With an additional jungle camp being added there's always something to clear, so you will probably be losing more time invading your enemy to take a big Wraith than it's worth spending. However, taking control of enemy buffs may be very useful, as you can perhaps take two blue buffs (one for you and one for your mid laner, for example). If you are fed, your kill potential will also be high when you catch an enemy jungler off-guard, but be careful not to get caught.
Olaf's ganks aren't completely brainless as you have to hit your first Q to be successful. After that, try to grab your axe so you can throw it again. The duration of your slow is so big that it will almost always be worth it to take the long route to catch the axe and throw it again. Once you are in melee range of your enemy, spam autoattacks and reckless swings to damage him. Ghosting and ulting may be necessary in some ganks to stick to targets, but don't be too trigger happy on your ultimate, as it requires good timing to be useful.
Having a teammate set up a gank with a snare, stun or slow may help you hit your first Undertow, which in its turn will make the gank more successful.
When dueling other champions, always be aware of how strong you are at low health. A good combination of Vicious Strikes and Ragnarok when you are nearly dead may give you enough damage and sustain to surprise your opponent, when he thinks you're doomed. Running away is often a bad choice for Olaf, as he will stop lifestealing and possibly die while trying to. However, be very careful with timing, as ulting too late may get you killed. Olaf is a champion who can win 1v2 battles given the right circumstances, but don't forget you're a jungler, not a laner, so you don't get as many items as other champions in the game. Be careful with spells such as exhaust and ignite, as they can make you much less of a threat.
As a jungler, you often won't have enough damage to kill an enemy carry, but you can force them to back away from a teamfight by pressuring them. If you ghost and ult at the correct moment, you can jump on a chosen target, usually a Marksman, and force all their team to either defend them, which requires killing you, because they can't stun or snare you, or leaving their carry to die, if they do nothing about you.
Olaf is not very good at peeling, but it may be necessary to stick a bit closer to your team in some situations. Just keep in mind that it's not your job to do that.
Remember, timing is everything for Olaf. You should block as much Crowd Control as you can with your ultimate, so don't be too trigger happy, as it removes the passive resistances component.
Olaf is not bad with or against siege comps due to his Undertow. It can serve as an harass tool and a waveclearing tool. His health regen also helps him stay in lane for a while. When you feel like it's time to engage, use Ghost and Ragnarok (and Talisman of Ascension, if you have it).
Wards are an important part of the game, and can basically even carry you to victory. Wards are the most Overpowered items in League of Legends because they grant vision in a specific area for three minutes, so you can know where the enemy is, when to initiate, or if they are going to gank you.
Red - Places that should be warded throughout the game
Orange - Places that could be warded that would tremendously help out your team
Grey - Places that could be warded, but is not completely necessary to.
Synergies and Counters
Any champion that can grant you Movement Speed boosts will make you very VERY strong.
Champion that are hard to chase down such as Kassadin, Nidalee and Zed are a nuisance for Olaf to gank. Champions who have short cooldown spammable Crowd Control effects may also be annoying, because your ult doesn't last forever.
