Pantheon
By Rhux
This build guide for Pantheon is for mid lane and is by Arch Angeloid and later edited by Crs Rhux, a 2400 rated player on League of Legends. Pantheon is a feared opponent that can eliminate his foes in a couple moves. *cough* grand *cough* skyfall...
*sub resistance for durability in defense tree if going vs. AD in lane.

*You can sub the ward for more pots if the enemy has a weak jungle ganker.
Core Item Build

The Bloodthirster
Last Whisper
Mercury's Treads
The Black Cleaver
Late Game Item Builds
Warmog's Armor
Infinity Edge
or
Warmog's Armor
Frozen Mallet
Pros and Cons
Pros
1. Can shutdown many mid champions (especially melee champions) 2. Great ganking potential with ultimate. 3. HUGE burst damage early-mid game.
Cons
1. Needs a strong early game to be effective later on. 2. Vulnerable to ganks. 3. Mana heavy champion.
21/2/7, with 2 being Tough Skin, 7 being Summoner's Insight, Meditation, and Mastermind.
Runes should be APen + Flat MP5 + Flat MR + 2 AD, 1 Flat MP5
Skill order is QWQEER, R > E > Q > W; get a third level of Q if you need to harass better to keep the enemy mid lane zoned.
Starting items are Long Sword and 2x Health Potion. Get Boots and Brutalizer, then Merc Treads and Black Cleaver. You ought to gank aggressively to get a Bloodthirster; at this point, farm it up. I would deviate from the guide and get either Frozen Mallet if you are doing well and can delay armor (you are going straight for their ADC in team fights), but if not, Randuin's Omen is a good safety pick (I personally find myself getting the Omen more often, since it's a nice flow chart of Stun -> Spear -> Omen -> HSS); I find Trinity Force to be way too expensive for the slot's purpose. Top it off with Guardian Angel and Infinity Edge.
The goal is to gain early dominance through non-stop spear harass. Tough Skin actually protects you from quite a bit of damage. I probably get hit
Really? I do not understand why Lol Pro lets "pros" post half-assed updated champion builds. The runes and masteries here are nowhere close to optimal.
Durability is trash; you do not get any Durability unless you are getting Veteran's Scars, which you do not get. Perseverance, on the other hand, is VERY good. Like, I am talking S1 Strength of Spirit good. Three points for 0 to 6 HP per 5 seconds scaling against HP? Assuming you are at 50% HP, every ten seconds you are in lane, you get Durability. In the time it takes to totally force someone out, you will have gotten Durability many times over for one less point. Laning is about sustaining. This gets to my next point: Meditation and a flat MR quintessence (or a flat HP quintessence!) is better than Resistance and mana regeneration quintessence.
You free up two points and get more stats this way. The two points can go into Durability and Resistance or Mastermind for more Flash cooldown.
nxt time just wait and dont comment b4 its updated --
It is updated, actually, and his comments are still accurate. My personal complaint is mana sustain - there's none here. Yes, it's currently listed as a "con" but mana sustain is what will cause him to lose his lane against any seasoned player who knows when it's smart to avoid being too aggressive. I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to fit in the Manamune without sacrificing too much damage, if I don't just rush it early.
Considering this guide says to start with a long sword for strong early game poke, starting with a mana crystal might be wiser - because you can put out MORE pokes before you're forced to base, or simply sit there oom with nothing but auto attacks. Then again, with how Panth "falls off" late game, Pantheon feels like a weaker Renekton right now.

I just want to let everyone know (this is the actual Arch Angeloid btw) that the website has stripped me off and made a rather textbook build out of what was once originally mine. I have deleted every little strategy that I used because this isn't my guide anymore. Sorry to disappoint anyone who looked forward to figuring out more about the "actual" build/runes/masts/strats of mine. Best of luck people, this isn't the original writer anymore, this is "About the Author: extinkt"
I would like to clear one thing up. This guide has actually not had an pro player assigned to it, besides Arch Angeloid. We made some minor edits to it for Season 3 since we could not get a hold of the original creator. There is no reason to delete the entire guide just because the original content creator won't update it. The guide has been reverted back to its original state and is classified as needing a Season 3 update. I promise to have that done soon!

manamune has actually shaped up this season its really strong on panth seeing how when it evolves with just the mana from it it gives your spear an extra 93 damage plus your basic attack an extra 129 damage. and it helps that 93 of it is magical instead of all ad.. you should try it out one time. i tried it to just see if it works and it worked well.. btw i like starting with the faerie charm, 2 wards. 2 life pots, and 2 mana pots gives me plenty vision and sustain at first buy.. i also use life steal quints so i dont have to worry about using life pots to much just mainly after i get ganked if they get a couple successful hits off
