*The best you can hope for with Trundle is using Pillar to force flashes, generally. If you can do that hopefully your lanes can make plays on your opponents with no flashes. Trundle isn't often picked for his ganks converting kills, he's picked to protect and disrupt with how obnoxious Pillar is.

Pros and Cons
PROS
Safe jungle
Ultimate gives an enemy champion an armor\magic resist debuff
*Lee Sin provides earlier and faster dragon pressure while jungling faster. Knockbacks, in general, are the way to counter champions with high tenacity.
Trundle is great because of how versatile he is in his build paths. I like to go Ancient Golem, Tabi, Randuin's, BotrK, SV and something situational to top it off. This gives Trundle massive raw power and survivability. The enemy can't ignore him or he'll debuff the carry, shred the tank and wreck everyone. But when focused, he'll probably withstand the beating, while still debuffing with Randuin's Omen. But I think any single one of those items can be replaced if need be, as long as you're tanky.
Also I think the changes to Trundle were a great improvement. Despite being (mostly) aesthetic and usability tweaks. He feel stronger and much more menacing. He communicates the brutal force way better and he doesn't seem to sabotage himself with his own skills anymore. I only wish they gave him the Dragon/Baron interaction on the ult back. I don't think it'd make him OP and in the current state, he probably has the worst objective control of all the viable junglers.
Ravenous Hydra for jungle Trundle, BOTRK for top lane. Cleaver is wasted on him. Both compliment his kit in a myriad of ways, although I prefer Hydra on him to BOTRK but it depends on the rest of your build and playstyle.
(Seaweed Hair, Stylish Green Jacket, and a Dirty Hot Pink Tutu.) (His weapon would be a giant watercolor brush.)
His W would: turn the ground into a lakeish area with seaweed in it. And upon use of the ability he would say "Whatcha doin' in my waters?"
His E would: create a giant bottle of baliey's that would be overflowing creating the slow puddle at the base.
His Ult would: create a ball of teets that would be hurled at the opponent draining them of their funkiness and bestowing it on trundle.
Special Interactions: Fizz Fisherman Skin - When attacked by Fisherman Fizz, Old gregg shouts out "Why is this hook in my head fool?." and Fizz replies "It has nothing to do with me,Sir."
I think Trundle is the top jungler. He can invade easily, he extremly effective at ganking if you know how to use his pillar correctly, and you can build him more dps due to the fact his ult will steal 50% of the armor by the end of it of any champion you put it on. he can reduce the damage a carry can do and brings more utility to the team and that pillar can seperate people from there team. Hell if you want a person to waste a flash just put a pillar behind them and go back to jungling.
Really? The top jungler? That's more than a stretch.
"Invade easily" if you take pillar and the invade fails your jungle route is completely screwed up because pillar is useless for clearing creeps.
"Extremely effective at ganking" I'm just gonna cite the guide... "Trundle isn't often picked for his ganks converting kills"
The armor steal is nice I'll give you that. But the damage reduction on an ADC is soooo small, when an ADC has 300 dmg they wont miss the 20 dmg that trundle steals from them.
Honestly , you should often just go on tank after R if he is even slightly out of position. With Black Cleaver and R debuffs, even that 200mr/armor Cho goes down like a sack of shit.
I love playing trundle, but the problem is I have a hard time ganking all the time so my team thinks I'm useless as him early game. Can you put up some videos of how to gank as trundle?
Move more or less as you would with Alistar. A) Move in from behind target, B) Contaminate area right behind target, and right in front of you. This way you will get move buff while closing in, and if target tries to escape you go faster while closign in and when chasing, C) Pillar his a**. Put it so he is blocked off from escape, and will be slowed. This ofc will also help your laner catch target.

One of my favorite tricks to use with Trundle is that if there is an enemy channeling an ability and you pillar them directly it will shove the player and cancel the spell.
