+0.15 magic resist per level (+2.7 at champion level 18)
Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resistx9
Flat ad quints, armor pen reds, flat armor yellows, armor/level yellows. A pretty standard rune page for champions with armor shreds and high base damages.
Masteries
Points Available:30 / 30
Now for masteries I think defensive is best for top lane. Xin has monstrous damage and CAN go offensive and do some serious Major Payne but I think that overall indomitable is simply too good to pass up, and he needs a little tankiness to survive. A melee going defensive spec in top lane? Do go on. Basically in order to do his job he needs to LIVE, and living is defensive in nature (as living isn't offensive, HAH HAH. HAH.)
Summoner Spell
Ignite
Targets a single champion dealing 50 + (lvl x 20) true damage over 5 seconds. Also reduces the target’s healing and regeneration by 50%.
Ignite
Flash
Teleports your Champion to target nearby location under your mouse cursor.
Flash
Flash and ignite? Madness. Maaaadness. Nobody ever goes flash and ignite!

This one is the most interchangeable. Fighting a target that can kite a lot like Riven? Go level the gap closer to max second. Fighting someone with heavy harass? Then you might want to pick up your sustain at level 1 (the W.) Really the only thing that will remain constant through all Xin builds is he will max Q first. I strooongly recommend choosing what will work best for that matchup and experimenting a lot.
Items
Starting Items
Boots of Speed
Health Potion
x3
Boots 3 health potions on a top laner? My mind, it's exploding from all this DIVERISTY! Sometime I start with a trinity atmas and warmogs just to diversify though.
Full Game Build
Ninja Tabi
Sunfire Cape
Wit's End
Guardian Angel
Trinity Force
The Bloodthirster
Enchantment: Alacrity
This one should be fairly obvious. Xin loves him some ghostblade/trinity, but he needs CDR and tankiness. Also GA is like way OP right now, so you might want to consider that. So there you go. HOWEVER I, again, heavily encourage experimenting with different things. A sunfire/wit's end build is a good way to get tanky and damaging when trying to win early game.
Like the guide however i prefer randuins omen to sunfire cape (saw it on the front) its passive and the active slow. I find most of my teams have another player who can grab frozen heart and i personally pass it up for more damage on xin usually getting blood thirster or ravenous hydra. also I would almost definitely replace ghost blade with black cleaver because cleaver is just a better item for xin zhao because of the health and armor shred that ghost blade lacks 15 armor pen just seems lack luster (as well as most other top lane/junglers). and while i like trinity force i find zephyr is a cheaper alternative that provides CDR, more attack speed, and tenacity. I also find maw interchangeable with wits end depending on what I need (more sustained damage vs a larger burst). Personally my favorite way to go right now is ninja tabi brutalizer randuins stinger hydra zephyr cleaver wits end. I like this because I can jump into a fight pop my randuins and and just shred armor with the massive attack speed + hydra/cleaver combo. So while he does just focus down one person he also has AOE which brings down the whole team quickly and with his ultimate you can knock everyone away as you finish your first target (or get low) and jump on the next person to lifesteal your health up and bring them down fast.
any comments, advice, etc? I am looking to see if I can improve my build so as to help my team win more often
Is this a serious guide or a parody? If it's serious you should write it like that because I doubt anyone will want to read twice amount of text just because you want to be funny. Keep it simple and use good English and formatting.
awwww u fixed the lore. It was so funny before. anyway this guide rocks and xin has a similar "i entered the fight so your all dead" effect as jarvan. well done
My friend says it's good to build phantom and lantren for early crit and armorlife steal is full ad xin better for targetting ranged ad carry then ulti and focus ap
is this good or bad?

Posted 10/5/2012 9:33:46 AMI would say either Randuin's or FH. And FH is better because of the cdr.
BTW: Evasion and Honor Guard suck so hard...
